Lynn Collins Cast as Lead in Cop Drama ‘Safe Harbor’

Lynn Collins (John Carter, Manhunt: Unibomber) has been cast in cable television’s next cop drama, Deadline reports. Collins will take on the lead role of Oriana Cloverfield in ABC’s new series Safe Harbor.

Safe Harbor follows the stories of several cops and explores both the challenges and awards that come with the job. Collins’ character Cloverfield is the main character, a woman who gave up her career as a lawyer to become a cop and enforce the law from a different angle. With its female protagonist, ABC is taking on the cop drama with a progressive twist.

Collins joins Aasif Mandvi (Daily Show, The Internship) and Kris D. Lofton (Ballers, The Promotion), who have also been cast as fellow cops in the show’s storyline. Jason Richman (Detroit 1-8-7) wrote the series while Michael Offer (Homeland, How to Get Away with Murder) will direct.

Safe Harbor is one of several pilots ABC has ordered for the upcoming television season. Other dramas include a law thriller from OJ Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark herself titled The Fix. There will also be a series called A Million Little Things, which follows eight friends who try to heal together after one of their best friends dies unexpectedly.
