Luke Grimes Says He Was A Mess Reading The Final Script Of ‘Yellowstone’

According to TVLine, Luke Grimes (Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker), who plays Kayce Dutton on Paramount Network’s Yellowstone, admitted he was a mess while reading the series’ final script. Yellowstone started the second part of the fifth and final season of the series earlier this month, and it seems like the ending will affect not only the fans but also the cast members of the series.” Grimes admits that he didn’t even want to open up the final script until he absolutely had to.

“I mean, it’s the end — the end-end,” Grimes told TVLine. “I had no idea how the show was going to wrap up, and I wanted to save reading that episode for the very last second.”

Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, the owner of the largest ranch in Montana, and it revolves around family drama at the ranch and the bordering Broken Rock Indian Reservation. The series recently said farewell to Kevin Costner (Dance with Wolves, The Bodyguard), who played John Dutton, the father figure, before the production of the last few episodes.

As per TVLine, *spoilers ahead* it seems that the final episode of Yellowstone will also be the end of Kayce’s adopted brother Jamie’s swan song. Grimes’ character, Kayce, is determined to get to the bottom of who murdered his father. His sister Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly (Sherlock Holmes, A Haunting in Venice), is already sure the culprit is the family’s black sheep.

“Jamie Dutton, played by Wes Bentley (American Beauty, The Hunger Games), might just get deserted by Jamie if Beth doesn’t get to him first. The final parts of the series will be filled with drama and different emotions; as Grimes stated, “I was a mess. It’s beautiful. It’s profound. It’s heartbreaking,” when reading the final script.

They won’t feel like they’ve wasted their time for the past six years,” Grimes says confidently, stating that viewers will not be disappointed by the way Yellowstone goes to the train station.”

The series is available to stream on Peacock and Hulu.
