“Luke Cage’s” Mike Colter Reveals That Luke Didn’t Survive Thanos’ Snap

Luke Cage star Mike Colter has confirmed that his character was one of the many trillions of individuals to suffer the fate of Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet snap in the MCU during the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Netflix canceled the series late last year along with Daredevil and Iron Fist, since then, fans have continued to ponder the future and the possibility of inclusion for these characters within the MCU. But since the snap itself, many have constructed memes and jokes on social media that the reasoning behind these show’s cancellations is far more about the ramifications of the snap.

Colter, while speaking with Comicbook.com, started out by floating out the question “Am I in Avengers: Endgame?” He would go on to say: “Well, you know what? Based off of what happened, I’m already dead, the snap has already happened with Luke Cage. We’re dead, we’re already gone! I hate to break it down, break people’s… but no, no, we’re not.” Seemingly affirming his character’s death in the widely-expanding universe of the MCU, Colter may also be referring to his television show’s literal cancellation.

That said, he did infer some optimistic projects that involve him reprising the popular role, stating: “You know what? Sure, absolutely, I’d be down for [movies]. Anything is possible. These things are sort of up in the air, at this moment. It’s pretty fresh. We got canceled on October 19th, or something like that I think the date was. So yeah, it’s still pretty fresh. We’ll see. With time, they’ll probably be some more clarity for everybody whether we’re actually gonna be involved in anything else.”

With only two marvel shows remaining, The Punisher and Jessica Jones, both of which are due to release later this year, the TV version of the MCU seems to have a lack of future going for it, and inclusion or stand-alone features aren’t exactly out of the realm of possibility for more popular characters such as Luke Cage, The Punisher, and Daredevil. That said, so much remains unknown territory as Feige and others have mentioned these character’s inclusion to be a real possibility but one that would have to be both sensical and not un-cohesive. But will have to wait and see what happens, but perhaps Colter has made it more readily apparent that Thanos’ snap was not limited to the silver screen.
