According to Deadline, Netflix premiered the trailer for its Little House on the Prairie reboot today. The original series is based on the books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder (Little House in the Big Woods, The Long Winter). View the trailer below.
In the trailer, we see a happy little girl with a hat running through a wheat field. She’s excited as she has a few squirrels on her back. Then it cuts to her father handing her mother a flower as she sits on her lap, as it pans out to the two children eating and giggling. After this, it shows the hard journey on the horse and carriage, the long trip. Next, we see the father chopping wood and the girls doing chores, seeing the city having different people. It also shows how the city is different from the farm as it shows the father playing violin as the girls sleep. Next, it shows the family having fun and you see the girls meeting new people, as well sadness, worry, and cheer. Then comes the new house as the father spins the mother, and the father plays violin for the father around a fire. Finally, you see the cart being pulled along to their new home.
The story centers around the Ingalls family who decide that the small life that they have isn’t for them, so they uproot and move west toward Kansas, Minnesota, and the Dakota Territory. The book shows the difficulty of pioneer life and how important that family is as well as how much we need each other. It also shows that you don’t need material items to be happy, you just need each other.
In an earlier article, mxdwn reported that the series received an early season two renewal. The head of Netflix’s US and Canada scripted series, Jinny Howe (Southland, Shameless), said, “We are delighted to renew this beautiful reimagining of Little House On The Prairie for a second season ahead of its Netflix debut.
