Lifetime has ordered dystopian thriller The Lottery to pilot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The one-hour drama pilot has been described as a “conspiracy thriller set in a dystopian future” from Timothy J. Sexton.
The Lottery is set in a time when women stop having children and reveals a world staring down the barrel of impending extinction. 100 embryos are successfully fertilized and a national lottery is held to decide on the surrogates.
Sexton will write and executive produce the project with Dawn Olmstead. Grady Girl Productions and Warner Horizon TV will produce.
