Lifetime Orders Pilot From Nicholas Sparks

Yesterday, Lifetime gave the green light for two-hour backdoor pilot Deliverance Creek from Nicholas Sparks Productions and Warner Horizon Television, explains Deadline.

The project, written by Melissa Carter, is set at the end of the Civil War and centers on Belle Barlowe who attempts to defend her family’s land by any means necessary. When the corrupt bank that runs their town pushes Belle into becoming an outlaw, the stakes become personal, setting off a chain of events that force her to question which is better: being good or surviving.

The pilot marks the first for Sparks and his publishing agent and creative partner Theresa Park’s TV production company, which the duo launched in the spring of 2012 with a first-look deal at WBTV, appointing UTA agent Elise Henderson as the head of development. Sparks and Park will executive produce the new pilot with Carter and Henderson will serve as co-executive producer.

Deliverance Creek joins other Lifetime pilots HR, which stars Alicia Silverstone and recently ordered Unreal.
