Ever since it was announced that a Will & Grace revival was in the works at NBC, fans have been clamoring for any news they can get about the show and its possible revival. Over the holiday weekend, fans got huge piece of news from recurring star Leslie Jordan, who played Beverley Leslie, one of Karen’s (Megan Mullally) rivals. According to TVLine, Jordan said that NBC has ordered 10 episodes to be filmed for a revival season.
“It’s back. Here’s the way it works: (NBC) has ordered 10 (episodes). It’ll be for next season, so they’ll go in in July,” Jordan said.
NBC has yet to officially confirm anything, so for now, it’s just word-of-mouth confirmation from Jordan.
To add fuel to the fire, Mullally tweeted a photo of the four main cast members (Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes, Debra Messing and herself) tossing martinis and captioned it as “self-explan” with one of the more celebratory emojis accompanying the photo.
Jordan played Beverley Leslie from season three onward to the end of the show in 2006, where he appeared in 12 episodes overall of the entire series. His character served as one of Karen’s many rivals, as the two ran in the same social circle.
Even if the Will & Grace revival falls through, fans can hopefully be happy with the fact that the cast was able to officially reunite twice in 2016. The first reunion took place at the James Burrows tribute, as the legendary television director had just directed his 1000th TV episode at the end of 2015. In February of 2016, the casts of the different shows that Burrows worked on over the years reunited, with Will & Grace being one of the shows that reunited. However, Messing wasn’t at the tribute and instead had a pre-recorded video message that aired before the segment for Will & Grace. The cast also reunited in September to film a 10-minute clip about the election and urged people to vote.
It was shortly after the election clip was posted to the internet that the rumors about a full Will & Grace revival started to take shape.
