

Production on the highly anticipated live-action Assassin’s Creed series is underway, and news has emerged regarding its timeline. According to Screenrant, the iconic game franchise is well-known for the centuries-spanning conflict between Assassins and Templars, as well as its signature parkour and action. The series will reportedly be set in 64 AD in Rome, Italy, during the reign of Emperor Nero.
Reported by Screenrant, there has been a number of confirmation of actors that will be going the show’s main cast which will include Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing, Bloodlands), Toby Wallace (Euphoria, Eden), Zachary Hart (Slow Horses, The Witcher: Blood Origin), Laura Marcus (Death by Lightning, The Jetty), Tanzyn Crawford (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Swift Street), Nabhaan Rizwan (KAOS, Informer) and Claes Bang (Bad Sisters, Dracula), whose roles have yet to be announced.
The series creators and showrunners, Robert Patino ( Westworld, DMZ) and David Wiener (Halo, Homecoming) speak in an interview with Screenrant about the process that will be put into the show,” Beneath the scope, the spectacle, the parkour, and the thrills is a baseline for the most essential kind of human story — about people searching for purpose, struggling with questions of identity and destiny and faith. It is about power and violence and sex and greed and vengeance.”
In the interview, they added, “But more than anything, this is a show about the power of human connection, across cultures and across time. And it is about what we stand to lose as a species if those connections fail. We’ve got an incredible team behind us, including Ubisoft and Netflix, and we’re dedicated to create something unforgettable for fans worldwide.”
Stated by Screenrant, as of yet, no further information has been released regarding when the upcoming Assassin Creed show will premiere on Netflix. The series will undoubtedly attempt to reproduce its original material and keep faithful to the primary plot while also adding its own spin to fascinate its target audience. If the series does well it could land itself has being one of the best video game based shows alongside other similar titles such as Fallout, The Last of Us and The Witcher.
