Lauren Cohan from ‘The Walking Dead’ to play Batman’s mom in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’

IMDb confirmed (via Twitter) Lauren Cohan’s presence in the upcoming Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice film.

The Walking Dead actress who portrays Maggie on the popular zombie apocalypse also retweeted IMDb’s post on her official Twitter account.

Cohan portrays Maggie on The Walking Dead and according to ComicBook, Cohan’s role on the upcoming superhero flick will be Batman’s mother aka Martha Wayne.
Unfortunately, Cohan’s role will be brief as there will be a quick backstory that’ll show her being murdered along with Batman’s father Thomas Wayne in that infamous scene Batman fans know all too well.

Now what’s interesting is the person who will be playing Thomas Wayne in the film. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is on the cast list on IMDb as Thomas Wayne for Batman v Superman. For those who aren’t familiar with Morgan, he landed the role as Negan on the upcoming season of The Walking Dead. Negan is the antagonist that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew will be facing. He’s suppose to be more vicious than The Governor (David Morrissey) ever was. And that’s saying a lot considering all the mayhem he caused in The Walking Dead’s third and fourth season. In The Walking Dead’s comic book series, Negan actually murders Glenn quite brutally with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire.

So in some weird alternate DC Universe, Maggie and Negan are married since they’re playing Batman’s parents in Batman v Superman. Well only if you want to look at it that way.

Things got really tense in the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead. Rick and his team had no choice but to cover themselves in zombie guts and as they attempt to walk past the hoards of walkers unnoticed. Then Sam (Major Dodson), the little boy starts freaking out as he calls out to his mom and scene. We’ll see what’s in store when The Walking Dead returns on February 14, 2016.
