As reported by Deadline, British musician Labrinth posted a strongly worded and negative Instagram post sans caption late March 12, publicly distancing himself from HBO’s Euphoria. Labrinth, real name Timothy Lee McKenzie, served as lead composer for the series through its first two seasons.

For his work on the series, McKenzie won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song All for Us. Recently, via Deadline, he attended the Balenciaga 2026 Winter Show in Paris, during which Euphoria creator Sam Levinson (Another Happy Day, The Idol) teased season three footage.
It was announced by HBO last year that McKenzie would be returning to compose for season three, reported Deadline.
mxdwn has previously reported on Euphoria’s upcoming third season, including its upcoming Spring release date of April 12. The trailer drew a record 100 million views within its first 48 hours, and the anticipation has been high since the progressive release of first-look images in late 2025 and sneak peaks of footage in HBO’s 2026 sizzle reel from January.
Recently, mxdwn reported on an emotional tribute statement that creator Levinson made to Deadline about the late Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy, The Last Ship) who played the character of Cal Jacobs in Euphoria. Levinson discussed Dane’s presence as a core part of the series’ adult cast, affirming the creative and emotionally lasting impact that the actor had on bringing the psychologically complex character of Cal Jacobs to life on screen.
Euphoria’s third season will have viewers following the series cast through a time jump to post-high school life in eight parts, and is expected to close out the currently open storylines from the previous seasons.
Returning to the main cast, via Deadline, is Zendaya (The Greatest Showman, Malcolm & Marie) as Rue Bennett with Hunter Schafer (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), Dominic Fike (Little Death, Earth Mama), Alexa Demie (Mid90s, Waves), Jacob Elordi (Priscilla, Saltburn), Maude Apatow (This is 40, The King of Staten Island), Sydney Sweeney (The Handmaid’s Tale, The White Lotus), and a posthumous performance by Dane as Cal Jacobs. Chloe Cherry (Blood Barn, The Napa Boys) and Martha Kelley (Gaslit, Carol & the End of the World) return as new series regulars with ensemble cast including Kadeem Hardison (A Different World, Drive), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agebaje (The Mummy Returns, The Bourne Identit), Marshawn Lynch (Bottoms, The Pickup), Toby Wallace (Babyteeth, The Royal Hotel), and musician Rosalía. Returning as a guest star is Colman Domingo (Selma, The Color Purple) as recovering drug addict Ali.
