Kristen Stewart is next in line for the Saturday Night Live hosting gig.
As Deadline reports, Stewart was announced as the host for the February 4th episode of SNL during tonight’s Aziz Ansari-hosted episode. The musical guest for Stewart’s episode will be Canadian pop-R&B/singer-songwriter Alessia Cara.
Stewart is currently at the Sundance Film Festival where she is premiering her directorial/screenwriting debut with the short film Come Swim, which features a score from indie-alt pop musician St. Vincent (who also has her directorial debut on the horizon in the all-female anthology horror film XX).
Stewart currently has Clouds of Sils Maria director Olivier Assayas’ film Personal Shopper coming soon with its American premiere in March. The film is a haunted house/ghost story set in the Parisian fashion world, with a heavy hint of Polanski. Stewart will appear alongside Chloë Sevigny in Craig William Macneill’s Lizzie Borden movie Lizzie later this year as well. This last year Stewart could be seen in Kelly Reichardt’s Certain Women, Woody Allen’s Café Society and Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.
Aziz Ansari hosted tonight’s SNL along with musical guest Big Sean. Next week NBC will air a repeat of Kristen Wiig and The xx’s November 19th episode. Stewart will host with musical guest Alessia Cara on February 4th.
