Fox’s Scream Queens is adding another big name to its cast, with Kirstie Alley confirmed to have a role in season 2. Entertainment Weekly had the story.
Scream Queens, created by Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story), Brad Falchuk (Nip/Tuck) and Ian Brennan (Cooties), is a comedy/horror series inspired by the slasher films of the ’80s and ’90s. The cast includes Emma Roberts (Unfabulous, We’re the Millers), Lea Michele (Glee), Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), Keke Palmer (Grease Live!), and one of the original “Scream Queens” herself, Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, Prom Night).
According to Fox’s press release, Alley – whose previous credits include Cheers and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan – will play the “brilliant and devious administrator” of the C.U.R.E. Institute, a hospital where “some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation”.
The press release also called Alley “one of the great actresses of her generation, proving time and again that she is capable of great depth and range, as well as possessing a comedic timing second to none”.
Alley isn’t the only new face joining the cast. John Stamos (Full House), Taylor Lautner (Twilight), and Colton Haynes (Arrow) have also been confirmed to appear in season 2.
Scream Queens will return to Fox on September 20th.
