According to Deadline, Kim Coates (White House Plumbers, The Getback) will be joining the second installment of AMC’s The Walking Dead: Dead City. Coates, known for playing roles like Alexander ‘Tig’ Trager in Son of Anarchy and Declan Gardiner in Bad Blood, will be joining the dramatic horror series as a series regular. The role that Coates will be taking in the series has yet to be disclosed, but it is stated to be a pivotal role.
According to Deadline, the series follows Maggie Rhee, who is played by Lauren Cohan (Catwoman: Haunted, Invincible: Atom Eve), and Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen, The Walking Dead), as they travel through the now post-apocalyptic Manhattan. The city is now filled with the dead who are attempting to take over while many people try to survive in the crumbling city.
The series cast also includes Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights, Roswell, New Mexico) as Perlie Armstrong, Mahina Napoleon (NCSI: Hawai’i, Show Me More) as Ginny, Željko Ivanek (Hannibal, Seven Psychopaths) as The Croat, Jonathan Higginbotham as Tommaso, Trey Santiago-Hudson (You Hurt My Feelings, Emotional Logical) as Jano, Charlie Solis (Click, Everything Will Be Okay) as Bartender, Logan Kim (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Kung Fu Panda 4) as Hershel Rhee, Karina Ortiz (The Long Road Home, Orange Is the New Black) as Amaia, and many others.
Showrunner Eli Jorné (Huge in France, Wilfred) executive produces alongside Cohan, Morgan, and Brian Bockrath (Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon). The series is overseen by Scott M. Gimple (Fillmore!, Chase), chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe.
The Walking Dead Universe now includes a total of eight different shows as well as webisodes, a comic book run, and even a video game.
The Walking Dead: Dead City is available to stream on AMC+ and The Roku Channel.
