Kiernan Shipka’s ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Is a Hit for Netflix

Growing up with watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch was full of comedy, hijinx, and a half-witch/half-mortal teenager girl who was just trying to fit in her high school. However, a new way of introducing Sabrina has taken a dark turn.

Netflix recently released their long-anticipated take on Sabrina with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The twisted series showcased all 10 ten episodes on the popular streaming site. Our leading Sabrina played by talented actress Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) has quickly developed a fan base for her character and the show.

With her 16th birthday coming up, Sabrina Spellman is having a hard time with choosing which world she wants to stay in: one infested with witches or the mortals she has befriended. It is a difficult choice as she knows how hard it can be to keep up with both worlds. “I think that a lot of her struggle is figuring out a way to balance her worlds in a way that isn’t catastrophic, and that’s a humongous undertaking because the witch world and the mortal world just don’t mix really,” said Shipka.

The supernatural series was created by comic book writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa who is also the man behind hit Netflix show, Riverdale. Riverdale and Sabrina share a connection as both were in Archie Comics.

Aguirre-Sacasa shared a picture of the cast on his Twitter.

Shipka has already confirmed that Netflix is currently filming season two. “We went straight into the second season from the first and it’s been really so exceptionally fun to film, especially given the fact that I feel like we’re already in such a rhythm from coming out of the first season that to jump right into the second one was really, really fun and just a great opportunity to keep the momentum going,” said Shipka. No premiere date for season two has been set.

Catch season one of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina as it is becoming a fan favorite on Netflix.
