Kid Flash is Now a Regular in ‘DC Legends of Tomorrow’

The Flash‘s Kid Flash is taking a regular seat on the Waverider. Keiynan Lonsdale (Walley West/Kid Flash) is joining the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow team and is going to become a regular in the show. Lonsdale will be back in his yellow suit with his new team next month on Monday February 19th (season three episode eleven). However, Lonsdale will not become an official member of the team until the thirteenth episode of that season. Lonsdale has been on DC Legends before. He appeared during the season three premiere to help the Legends, as well as, the cross over episodes. Because of the death and the exit that happened during the show this season, the Waverider has a couple of seats to fill by the Firestorm duo.

Executive producer Phil Klemmer for the show said, “We loved working with Keiynan in our series premiere — the episode in which we learned that in between seasons 2 and 3 he had been fighting crime in Central City with Nick Zano’s Nate Heywood. So when his character stepped away from Flash to go on walkabout, after being dumped and feeling somewhat estranged from his family and team, we knew that Wally West would fit in perfectly on Legends. After all, our show is about a collection of unlikely heroes who all began their journeys questioning who they are and where they belong — only to find those answers while traveling through time and having wacky adventures. So now, Wally West is not only back in the company of old friends from the Arrowverse, he’s fighting alongside a former enemy and career arsonist Mick Rory/Dom Purcell. By the end of this season, Wally will learn that the Legends have a different definition of what it means to be a hero.”

In The Flash Lonsdale’s character left Central City to try and find himself. Once Barry Allen (The Flash) came out of the speed force he was not sure of his place on the team. It was expected that at some point he would return to the Team Flash; however, instead he is joining the time traveling Legends.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns its midseason break on Monday, February 12 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
