Kevin Spacey To Be Honored by Museum of the Moving Image

The Museum of the Moving Image will honor Kevin Spacey at its 28th annual Salute.

According to Deadline, the ceremony for the House of Cards star is in New York on April 9. The ceremony will feature a tribute from his House of Cards co-stars, friends and colleagues. It will also feature scenes from his films as a lead up to the presentation.

“Kevin Spacey is one of our culture’s most exciting performers,” Museum board of trustees co-chairman, Herbert S. Schlosser said in a statement. “He has proven his talent and versatility in a wide range of memorable and award-winning roles, and is also an accomplished executive producer and director. This is a great time to be honoring him.”

In addition to starring in the Netflix original series, he also serves as executive producer on House of Cards. For his role, he earned Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe nominations. He owns production company Trigger Street, which produced Oscar-nominated Captain Phillips and Oscar Winner The Social Network. Spacey has received two Oscars for his roles in American Beauty and The Usual Suspects. He also starred in Glengarry Glen Ross, L.A. Confidential, Margin Call, Horrible Bosses, and HBO’s Recount, among others. He received a Tony award for Lost in Yonkers (1991) and has been the artistic director for the Old Vic Theatre in London since 2004.

Previous honorees include Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Robert DeNiro, Goldie Hawn, Alec Baldwin, Dustin Hoffman, Hugh Jackman, Steve Martin, Al Pacino, Sidney Poitier, Jimmy Stewart, Julia Roberts, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.

Museum of the Moving Image dedicate their time to the art, history, technique and technology of film, television and digital media.
