Tubi is expanding its partnership with comedian, actor, and digital creator Kevin “KevOnStage” Fredericks (Churchy, Friday Night Vibes) through what Deadline describes as the platform’s most expansive creator partnership to date. The free ad-supported streaming service has signed Fredericks to a multi-project, multi-year slate deal that includes additional seasons of his comedy series Safe Space, a new scripted workplace comedy, a stand-up special, and original feature films.
The partnership builds on the success of Safe Space, a Tubi Original comedy series co-created, directed, executive produced by, and starring Fredericks. In the show, he plays the underqualified Dr. Fredericks, whose mission is to help struggling couples repair their relationships. Deadline reports that the eight-episode second season premieres this June, while season three is scheduled for July 2027.
The deal also includes a new ten-episode comedy series titled The Airport. According to Deadline, it is set at the country’s most dysfunctional airport, and the series follows an ill-equipped staff as they attempt to keep operations running amid constant chaos. The comedy is scheduled to premiere in November.
mxdwn previously covered another major expansion of Tubi’s creator and content strategy when the streamer reached a distribution agreement with SiriusXM to bring podcasts from creators including Conan O’Brien (Conan, Late Night with Conan O’Brien) and Trevor Noah (The Daily Show, Afraid of the Dark) to the platform. That report highlighted Tubi’s broader effort to diversify its offerings beyond traditional television and film by investing in creator-driven content and digital personalities.
The new agreement with KevOnStage represents another step in that strategy, this time focusing on scripted comedy, stand-up, and original films from a creator with an established online audience. Fredericks will also release his first comedy special for a major streaming platform titled Grief Sucks. The special offers a comedic and personal look at grief and family, set to premiere on February 21, 2027.
Tubi executive Rich Bloom said the expanded deal reflects the company’s commitment to supporting creators with dedicated audiences and unique voices. With new seasons of Safe Space, a workplace comedy, a stand-up special, and feature films on the way, Fredericks is set to become one of Tubi’s biggest creator partners in the years ahead.
