Kelsey Grammer Remains Optimistic About ‘Frasier’ Revival’s Future

According to Deadline, Kelsey Grammer (CheersThe Marvels) remains optimistic about the future of his Frasier revival, despite the show facing hurdles with its home at Paramount+. Grammer, who reprised his iconic role as Frasier Crane for the series, revealed that after the original executive who championed the project left the studio, the show ended up in the hands of new leadership that wasn’t as passionate about it.

“The fellow that worked at Paramount Plus when we first sold the show there left, and so it sort of fell into their laps,” Grammer explained to the New York Post. “They gave it a good try, but they weren’t particularly passionate about the project.”

Grammer remains confident that the show will find a new home, though, as it continues to be shopped around. “It’s got a huge audience, a big following, and if people know where to find it, I think they will,” he said.

Deadline reports that the show’s future has also sparked interest in potential third season, which could see the return of Ted Danson (The Good PlaceA Man On The Inside), Grammer’s Cheers co-star. The two recently reconciled after 30 years of not speaking to one another, and Grammer teased that their renewed friendship might bring Danson into the fold for new Frasier episodes. If not in the new season, Grammer and Danson are considering other ways to collaborate.

The Frasier revival follows the titular character as he returns to Boston to confront new challenges, form new relationships, and hopefully fulfill some long-held dreams. The series stars Jack Cutmore-Scott (OppenheimerDeath & Other Details) as Frasier’s son, along with Nicholas Lyndhurst (Goodnight SweetheartOnly Fools & Horses), Toks Olagundoye (Arcane, The Neighbors), and Jess Salgueiro (Workin’ MomsY: The Last Man), among others.

The show is still being shopped to various networks and streaming platforms, with Grammer hopeful that the right platform will be found to match the show’s fanbase and potential.
