Regarding the reported alleged toxic working environment on the Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson recently released a statement regarding the issue.
A new employee and ten ex-employees from the show have revealed in a Rolling Stones interview that working on the show has greatly “deteriorated” their mental health and that the employees are being underpaid while being overworked. It was also pointed out that Alex Duda, the show’s executive producer, was described to be a “monster” and that a former employee stated, “I have a friend who’s an executive producer who warned me about taking this job because apparently, she has done this on every show she’s worked on.” Another former employee stated that they spent time on top of the roof crying and questioning why they were working on such a show as The Kelly Clarkson Show and why they would put up with such mistreatment by others in the workspace.
During their Rolling Stone interview, one of the former employees remarked that they doubted Kelly Clarkson even knew about her crew’s struggles. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Clarkson has recently released a statement addressing the current issues surrounding the show, calling it “unacceptable” for anyone to feel this way about any production.
The singer said, “I have always been, and will continue to be, committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment at The Kelly Clarkson Show. As we prepare for a move to the East Coast, I am more committed than ever to ensuring that not only our team that is moving but also our new team in NY is comprised of the best and kindest in the business.” Clarkson also continued by declaring there shall be “leadership training” so that everyone on production, herself included, can work towards a more healthy environment.
