‘Justice League’, ‘Justice League Unlimited’, ‘The Batman’, ‘Static Shock’, and More Coming to HBO Max in February

HBO max is amassing quite the library in terms of DC shows and movies next month, according to ComicBook. These movies and shows consist heavily of properties revolving around the caped crusader himself, Batman. With the animated selection of Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, The Batman, Static Shock, and Batman: The Brave and The Bold, there’s a lot to look forward to for DC fans and that’s not including the feature films releasing as well. Considering the consolidation of media that HBO Max has to grapple with now that Warner Bros shut down their DC Universe TV streaming service could explain why so many shows are finding a new home at HBO Max. While fans can still access the comic book library with a subscription to DC Universe, the shows and films are migrating to HBO Max.

The animated DC shows moving to HBO Max in February include Batman: The Brave and The Bold, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited which will arrive on February 1. The next animated DC shows will be available to stream on the 15 of February, they include The Batman, and Static Shock. These series range from different tones and settings. Justice League/Justice League Unlimited features the most powerful of DC’s roster teaming up to take down global threats to save the world, while a show like Static Shock is centered on a local kid acquiring the ability to manipulate static currents and using his newfound power to stop his neighborhoods villains, and finally Batman: The Brave and The Bold centers on the silver age of Batman and provides a more campy tone to The Dark Knight, while The Batman showcases a younger, edgier Bruce Wayne as he defends Gotham from his psychotic rouges gallery.

Each of these animated shows will be extremely popular with the kids and young adults who grew up with them in the early 2000’s and find a whole new audience in todays youth. These shows teach moral lessons, push the boundaries of what it means to be a superhero, and most importantly they reveal that having incredible power should be treated as a responsibility.

The DC films arriving on February 1 include Batman (1989), Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin and Man of Steel. While fans will be able to stream Jason Momoa’s (Khal Drogo, Game of Thrones) Aquaman on February 5. From the likes of Batman, Robin, Superman, and Aquaman, DC fans will have several ways to keep themselves busy next month.
