Juliet Landau (Ed Wood, Theodore Rex), star of the 90s series Buffy The Vampire Slayer and its spinoff Angel, has announced new podcast in which she will rewatch Buffy and comment about the show alongside other co-stars, Comicbook.com reports. The podcast is titled Slayin’ It. She will co-host the podcast alongside Christopher Feinstein and Frank Bonacci (Proslogion, Swipe). Two episodes have been released, which are named “Countdown Episode” and “Countdown Bonus Episode,” with two guests, David Greenwalt (Grimm, Profit), who was the director/executive producer/writer of Buffy and the official creator/director of its spinoff Angel, and Julie Benz (Dexter, Desperate Housewives).
Other guests in the next episodes, according to Comicbook.com, are Musetta Vander (Super Force, Boy Meets World), who portrayed the character of Natalie French, and Ken Lerner (The Neighborhood, Feud), who played the role of Principal Flutie. The announcement for the “Countdown Bonus” episode, which Landau posted on July 23, is embedded in the X post below.
“Slayin’ It has everything fans love, encompassing heartfelt nostalgia,” Landau explained in an exclusive statement via Comicbook.com. “It’s also a fresh evolution; a continuation, an exploration with new content and new entertainment as well. This show takes the idea of the traditional podcast and evolves it!”
According to Comicbook.com, Landau has reprised the role of Drusilla once again in a Buffyverse audio drama on the Audible platform called Slayers.
According to Comicbook.com, other shows recently launched rewatch podcasts, such as the series This Is Us, with hosts Mandy Moore (Tangled, The Princess Diaries), Sterling K. Brown (Supernatural, Black Panther) and Chris Sullivan (Imperium, The Knick), two years after the show concluded. The genre of rewatch podcasts has been going on for a while, as many fans have done a few independently. However, it became known thanks to two podcasts: Office Ladies, the rewatch podcast made by The Office‘s Angela Kinsey (Haters Back Off, Tall Girl) and Jenna Fischer (Mean Girls, A Little Help), and Fake Doctors, Real Friends, with stars from the series Scrubs, Zach Braff (French Girl, Chicken Little) and Donald Faison (Clueless, The Exes), both created by stars of their respective shows.
