Amazon recently released the third season of Jack Ryan in December of 2022. The third season came out almost three years after the release of the second season and according to Comicbook, it was definitely worth the wait. The critical response and its good score on Rotten Tomatoes has everyone eagerly awaiting the fourth season, which according to Comicbook, might be the last.
The good news is that fans might not have to wait such a long time for the final season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. During a recent interview with The Wrap, lead actor John Krasinski (The Office, A Quiet Place) revealed that the fourth season might be coming sooner than expected. In the interview he revealed that “we already finished [season four], we actually shot three and four back to back.” Krasinski said that this had been done as a consideration for the fans of the show so that they didn’t have to wait for such a long time in between seasons.
For the fans saddened by the end of the show, there is still hope. According to Comicbook, there has been some groundwork done that will lead to a spinoff series that would focus on Ding Chavez, who is played by Michael Peña (Antman, Moonfall). His character was going to be introduced at the season finale of season three but the scene didn’t make it out of the cutting room. This means Ding Chavez will have a bigger role in the new season before becoming the lead character of the spinoff.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan focuses on CIA analyst Jack Ryan as he is given dangerous field assignments. His latest assignment in season three has him as a CIA case officer in Rome when he gets the information that the Sokol project, a secret plan to restore the Soviet Empire, is being resurrected.
Other members of the cast include Wendell Pierce (Suits, Chicago P.D.) as CIA Officer James Greer and Michael Kelly (House of Card, The Long Road Home) as former CIA Officer Mike November. Joining the show’s third season is Nina Hoss (Homeland, Tár) as Czech President Alena Kovac and Betty Gabriel (Clickbait, Defending Jacob) as CIA Rome Station Chief Elizabeth Wright.
Season four is expected to come sometime in 2023 but an exact premiere date hasn’t been revealed. All previous seasons of Jack Ryan are available to stream on Amazon Prime.
