The renowned streaming giant, Netflix is diving headfirst into the mysterious world of the live action Scooby-D00 series. According to Deadline, Netflix has put in an eight-episode order for the series and will showcase a whole new origin story behind how the mystery gang and their talking dog will meet each other. The studio that will be behind the creation of the live-action adaption, will be none other than Berlanti Productions, who have worked on other series such as Riverdale and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

According to Deadline, the thing that has made Scooby-Doo such an iconic series is the wonderful blend of thriller and comedy, with the addition of finding out who is behind the mask. Currently, what we know about the plot is that Shaggy and Daphne were finishing their final summer at camp but discovered the iconic Great Dane that was a witness to a supernatural murder; they also met Velma and Fred. The gang decides to solve the mysterious case that had put each of them into their worst nightmare and expose their deepest secret.

Netflix’s Scripted Series VP, Peter Friedlander, states in an interview with Deadline ,“Mystery, Inc. is back in business! There is currently little information surrounding on the cast and release date of the live-action Scooby-Doo series, but this major announcement by Netflix will capture the attention of old and new fans of the franchise to give it a watch.
