A new comedy, Call Me Kat, has been picked up by Fox and will include the reunion of The Big Bang Theory stars, Jim Parsons (The Normal Heart) and Mayim Bialik (Blossom), according to TV Guide. The pair famously portrayed couple Sheldon Cooper (Parsons) and Amy Farrah Fowler (Bialik) on the past CBS comedy. Parsons received critical acclaim for his role with four Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and one Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Comedy. Bialik also acquired acclaim for her role as Fowler which saw her amass four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Support Actress in a Comedy Series. The CBS sitcom, created by Chuck Lorre (2 Broke Girls), recently ended its 12 seasons run in the spring of 2019.
The reunion for these two actors is for this upcoming comedy for the Fox network Call Me Kat which will follow Bialik portray the titular character, Kat. The series will follow Kat’s struggles in life as a 39-year-old and revolts against her parents with the purchase of a cat café in Louisville, Kentucky with the funds that were intended to pay for a future wedding. Call Me Kat’s cast will include Swoozie Kurtz (Mike & Molly), Kyla Pratt (The Proud Family), and Leslie Jordan (American Horror Story: Roanoke) in unspecified roles. Parsons has not been attached to the cast just yet, but he is set to executive produce alongside his husband Todd Spiewak (Young Sheldon) and Bialik.
Currently, there is not an announced premiere date for the Fox comedy Call Me Kat.
