The Jim Gaffigan and Peter Tolan family comedy pilot created last season will officially begin redevelopment, according to Deadline.
CBS and Sony Pictures TV sealed the deal, as reported this Friday by Deadline. The single-camera comedy is written by both Gaffigan and Tolan and is inspired by Gaffigan’s personal life. He stars as a married father of five living in New York City, mirroring his real life.
Michael Wimer and Alex Murray are set to executive produce the project, and while the initial pilot starred Mira Sorvino as Gaffigan’s wife, there has been no information as to whether she will appear in the new version, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Gaffigan has been successful in the comedy world with his stand-up and recently a book entitled Dad is Fat. He has also appeared on many television shows including Welcome to New York, Ed, That ’70s Show, and Law and Order, to name a few.
The untitled comedy will possibly reach the air during the 2014-15 season, reported TV Guide.
