Emmy Award winner Jharrel Jerome (When They See Us) has boarded HBO Max’s upcoming limited series, Full Circle, from Academy Award-winning director Steven Soderbergh (High Flying Bird), per Deadline. The series will follow an investigation of a thwarted kidnapping attempt that uncovers deep secrets involving cultures and individuals in New York City.
As reported by Deadline, Jerome is rumored to star as a member of a New York criminal organization. He joins previously announced leading cast members, including Emmy Award nominee Zazie Beetz (Atlanta), three-time Emmy Award winner Claire Danes (The Essex Serpent), Emmy Award nominee Timothy Olyphant (Santa Clarita Diet), and Emmy Award nominee Dennis Quaid (Goliath).
Allegedly, Beetz will star as a U.S. Postal service inspection agent; Danes will play Sam, a Manhattan attorney fleeing her father’s business, and Olyphant will play Derek, Sam’s husband. Quaid will star as a celebrity chef whose grandson was targeted in an attempted kidnapping. Full Circle is directed by Soderbergh, who will executive produce alongside his frequent collaborators Ed Solomon (Mosaic) and Casey Silver (Godless).
Jerome’s recent credits include the Academy Award-winning film Moonlight, Tayarisha Poe’s Selah and the Spades, Olivia Newman’s First Match, Anthony Mandler’s Monster, and Audience Network’s Mr. Mercedes. Jerome won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series for his role as Korey Wise in the Netflix limited series, When They See Us.
HBO Max has yet to confirm a release date for Full Circle.
