Jessica Chastain’s Freckle Films Has Acquired Television Rights For Alice Feeney’s ‘His and Hers’

Jessica Chastain’s (Molly’s Game, Interstellar) Freckle Films, producer Kristen Campo (Truth Be Told, See) and Endeavor Content have attained television rights for Alice Feeney’s (I Know Who You Are, Sometimes I Lie) new novel His and Hers. According to Variety, “the novel tells the story of DCI Jack Harper and BBC newsreader Anna Andrews, whose paths cross for the first time following their divorce when a woman is found murdered in their hometown. Anna is reluctant to cover the case and Jack becomes suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation.”

His and Hers is not the first of Feeney’s novels to be adapted for television. According to VarietySometimes I Lie, her debut work, is currently in development at Fox with Ellen DeGeneres and Warner Bros. Television where Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Cruel Intentions).

Feeney explains that her books being brought to the screen is surreal to her. She says on Variety “the last three years have been such a wonderful whirlwind and I’m still pinching myself.” She is “so thrilled to be working with Jessie Chastain, Kristen Campo, and the team at Endeavor Content. I love what they have planned for His and Hers, and I can’t wait to see Anna Andrews and Jack Harper brought to life on the screen.”

Though no network or streaming service is currently attached to the series in progress, Variety confirms that Chastain and Kelly Carmichael (The Nanny Diaries, Nine) will executive produce on behalf of Freckle Films, along with Campo.

The rights for His and Hers are represented by ICM partners, and Luke Speed and Jonny Geller on behalf of Curtis Brown. Freckle Films is represented by CAA and  Campo is represented by WME. There are no details regarding the premiere date of the book based series or possible talent that may be involved in its making.
