Saturday Night Live is back in full force these next two weekends as they are gearing up for new back-to-back episodes. Right after it was announced that Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name, Little Women) will be hosting the upcoming show on November 11, it was announced that none other than Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa (Aquaman), will be hosting the next show on November 18. Momoa will host alongside Tate McRae as the musical guest.
Hosting SNL is not an unfamiliar gig to Momoa. He previously hosted back in December of 2018. He has also made several cameos on the sketch show in October 2019 and October 2020. This time around, Momoa is hosting just ahead of his new movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. With the SAG-AFTRA strike not quite over yet, actors are allowed to have late-night appearances as per the SAG net code, which is in place for reality and late-night entertainment to continue. They are not allowed to promote their work until the agreement is reached and the strike ends.
The musical guest McRae however, is a newbie to SNL as she has yet to perform on the iconic stage in studio 8H. She is a Canadian singer who has recently released her single titled “Greedy”. McRae’s music rose to popularity after her sign titled “One Day” went viral on TikTok. After that, her song “You Broke Me First” also was all over social media, especially after McRae had been a finalist on the show So You Think You Can Dance.
Season 49 of SNL started on September 14 with Pete Davidson (King Of Staten Island) with musical guest Ice Spice. This upcoming week will be hosted by Chalamet with musical guest boygenius on November 11. Momoa is slated to perform the weekend after on November 18. Watch Saturday Night Live this Saturday on NBC at 11:30 pm EST.
