Emmy winner Jane Lynch (Glee) has been cast in ABC’s comedy pilot Bucktown, hailing from The Conners producing team, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She will star alongside Shannon Woodward (Raising Hope) and Nicole Richie (The Simple Life) in the pilot.
Woodward is slated to play Amy, a recently-dumped woman who was kicked out of her apartment on the eve of her work promotion and moves in with her mother in a Chicago neighborhood. Betsey Thomas (My Boys) will serve as executive producer and director while Lynch will play the role of Amy’s mother, Helen. The actor is most well-known for her role as Sue Sylvester in the 2009 series Glee as well as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, both of which she has won Emmys for. Most recently, Lynch hosts and executive produces the NBC game show Weakest Link and has appeared in Netflix’s Space Force and CBS’ Criminal Minds.
Emily Wilson (The Conners), most well-known for having written and co-executive produced ABC series The Conners, penned the Bucktown pilot. Thomas will also serve as executive producer along with The Conners executive producers Sara Gilbert (Roseanne) and Tom Werner (Roseanne). Other casting decisions have not yet been announced.
