According to a recent article by Deadline, Jamie Campbell Bower (Harry Potter, Camelot, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them), best known for his role as Henry Creel/Vecna in the popular Netflix series Stranger Things, recently shared insights on the show’s highly anticipated fifth and final season. During an appearance on one of iHeart’s podcasts called I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario, Bower hinted at the explosive nature of the upcoming episodes.
“If you thought last season was nuts, this season is just out of control, wild, like it’s bonkers. It really, really is,” Bower remarked in a teaser clip The Hollywood Reporter obtained before the episode’s release. He elaborated on the complexity of the new season, noting that while the previous season’s events were easier to follow, the final season’s plot has him scrambling to keep up. According to Deadline, Bower compared this experience to his role as Caius in the Twilight saga, where he had the opportunity to rediscover his character during filming.
As reported by Deadline, Bower credited the Stranger Things play in London, The First Shadow, for deepening his understanding of his character. The play, set in 1959, explores the backstories of several key characters, including younger versions of Joyce Byers, Bob Newby, and Jim Hopper Jr. The narrative begins with Henry Creel’s arrival in Hawkins, Indiana, where his family soon discovers that escaping their past is not as simple as they hoped. “To have a lot of the questions or a lot of the thoughts that I had about that character kind of answered by watching the play and also discover more, was really interesting for me,” Bower said.
The actor also highlighted the increased attention to detail in the final season, which he found particularly exciting as an artist. Although, according to Deadline, filming for the fifth season commenced in January, Bower revealed that there is still a significant amount of work to be done, suggesting that fans may have to wait a while before they embark on the “wild” journey to The Upside Down.
As Stranger Things approaches its conclusion, the anticipation for its final chapter continues to build. With Bower’s hints at a season filled with unprecedented chaos and depth, fans can look forward to the beloved series’ thrilling and satisfying conclusion.
