

The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power is adding two news faces for its third season. According to a Prime press release, Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street) and Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan, Back to Black) joined the cast of the fantasy drama series. The show is currently in pre-production for the upcoming season, which Prime expects will begin shooting sometime this spring.
According to Deadline, Bower is playing a knight named Arlen, who is described as handsome and from an elite class. Less is known about Marsan’s character, who is named Dromm.
Deadline reported on Bower’s most notable roles. Best known for portraying Henry Creel/Vecna in Stranger Things—which is set to release its fifth and final season later this year—the English actor has also taken on iconic roles such as Caius in The Twilight Saga, a young Gellert Grindelwald in the Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts series, and Jace in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. In addition to acting, Bower is a musician and first stepped into the film industry with his debut in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. More recently, he appeared in Kevin Costner’s (Yellowstone, The Bodyguard) epic Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1.
Bower’s television career includes prominent roles such as King Arthur in the Starz fantasy drama Camelot and a regular part in TNT’s Will. He is represented by UK-based 42, Paradigm, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
Deadline also reported on Marsan’s career, a two-time British Independent Film Award (BIFA) winner for his performances in Mike Leigh’s (Secrets and Lies, Hard Truths) Vera Drake and Happy-Go-Lucky. He played Terry Donovan throughout the entire run of Showtime’s Ray Donovan as well as its follow-up film. Marsan’s recent projects include a starring role in the Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black and an appearance in the Brian Epstein(A Hard Day’s Night, Eight Days a Week) biopic Midas Man. Additionally, he played a major part in Apple TV+’s limited series Franklin alongside Michael Douglas (Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct) and had recurring roles in Netflix’s Supacell and Heartstopper. He is represented by UK’s Markham, Froggatt & Irwin and UTA.
