DC comic iZombie will become the latest drama for The CW network.
Reported exclusively by Deadline, Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero will write characters based on those created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred and published by DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint.
iZombie is a supernatural crime show about a med student-turned-zombie who gets a coroner’s in order to gain access to brains she must reluctantly eat to live. She eats the brain but also ingests the memories of those brains she consumes. This allows her to help her medical examiner boss and a police detective solve the homicides.
Thomas and Ruggiero will executive produce along with Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge.
Warner Bros TV is currently producing DC-themed series The Flash, iZombie and Hourman at the CW, Gotham at Fox, and Constantine at NBC. Comic themed series are hot currently with such series as Arrow, The Walking Dead, ABC’s Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Marvel series just sold to Netflix.
