Iron Fist Appearance Confirmed in Second Season of ‘Luke Cage’

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Danny Rand, also known as the Iron Fist, will be making an appearance in season 2 of Netflix’s Luke Cage.

EW offered a first look of the two characters together even though Marvel has kept most of the details under wraps. Even though no other details have been released, it is definitely a guarantee that Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) will be seen together in the new upcoming season.

The two characters have previously worked together in Marvel’s The Defenders alongside other heroes Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Jessica Jones (Krysten Cox). The four had to work together despite their differences in order to save New York City.

Nothing has been said of when Danny Rand will make his appearance during the season or whether it will just be a cameo. Either way, the fans should be excited to see the fellow Defenders side by side again. Maybe there is some hope for some Heroes for Hire action for the comic fans after all.

Finn Jones once explained to Collider the relationship between Danny Rand and Luke Cage in the Defenders with saying, “The great thing about the relationship between the two characters is that it’s incredibly relevant. It’s a relationship that’s needed on screen right now. They come from very different backgrounds and they have very different points of view, but despite all of it, they’re able to find a common ground and actually become very good friends. I think that’s a very relevant relationship that we need on screen, at the moment. I think the reason why Danny and Luke are able to become such good friends and really relate to each other is that, despite their differences, deep down, they see the trauma in each other, they see the struggle, and they see the vulnerability.”

It was also noted during the summer that Lucy Liu will be directing the premiere of Luke Cage’s season 2, with returning characters Misty Knight (Simone Missick), Shades (Theo Rossi), Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), and Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard) according to Screenrant.

There is much anticipation on whether the relationship between Danny and Luke will remain the same once the second season of Marvel’s Luke Cage returns to Netflix in 2018.
