

DC is gearing up to storm this year with its upcoming Lantern series with Nathan Fillion’s (Castle, The Rookie) Guy Gardner, who will make a brief cameo in the upcoming Superman film. According to Deadline, this isn’t the first time that Fillion has played as a Green Lantern, as he was the voice of Hal Jordan within several animated series, including Justice League: Doom and Green Lantern: Emerald Knight. The series will be under the creative mind of James Gunn (Creature Commandos, Guardians of the Galaxy), who will most definitely deliver a wonderful blend of action and comedy.
According to a mxdwn post, this series will surely give a new spin on the original story behind Guy Gardner, who is a top member within the Green Lantern Corps. What we currently know about Guy Gardner within the new DCU is that he is seen with a small group of heroes, which includes Hawkgirl.
According to Deadline, what fans currently know is that the story will have a detective-style narrative, which will follow Hal Jordan, played by played by Kyle Chandler (Bloodline, Game Night), and John Stewart, played by Aaron Pierre (Krypton, Rebel Ridge), solving a string of mysterious deaths on Earth. Additional members of the upcoming series will include Kelly Macdonald (Brave, Puzzle), Garret Dillahunt (Army of the Dead, Sprung), Poorna Jagannathan (Wolfs, The Out-Laws), Jasmine Cephas Jones (Hamilton, Erax), Ulrich Thomsen (Ripple, Agent) and J Alphonse Nicholson (Self-Made, P-Valley), whose roles were previously announced.
According to Deadline, the series has already been given an eight-episode order by HBO, and the production alongside Gunn will consist of Chris Mundy (Ozark, Criminal Minds) as showrunner, Damon Lindelof (Watchmen, Lost) and Tom King (Heroes of Crisis, Jenny Sparks) as co-writers.
There is currently no concrete release date for the series, but it is scheduled for sometime in early 2026.
