Upcoming Hulu comedy series, Tiny Beautiful Things, has cast Quentin Plair (The Good Lord Bird) as a series regular, as reported by Deadline. Plair will play Danny Kinkade, a creative and level-headed musician. Danny is lovingly frustrated with his wife Clare, played by two-time Emmy nominee Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision), and is overwhelmed by her selfish and self-destructive nature. Thus, Danny asks Clare to join him in couples therapy and recover their marriage.
Based on the novel by Cheryl Strayed (Wild), the series will focus on a woman who reluctantly becomes an anonymous columnist named Dear Sugar, all while her life is falling apart. The series sprawls multiple timelines and attempts to show its audience how our own stories are what will ultimately save us.
Tiny Beautiful Things is created by Emmy Award nominee Liz Tigelaar (Little Fires Everywhere). Hahn, Strayed, and Tigelaar will executive produce the series alongside Academy Award winner Laura Dern (Marriage Story), Jayme Lemons (Enlightened), Emmy Award nominee Lauren Neustadter (Big Little Lies), Stacey Silverman (The Lying Game), and Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line, The Morning Show). The series will have a 30-minute run time.
Plair’s other recent credits include roles in the CW’s Roswell, New Mexico, ABC’s The Good Doctor, and BET’s The Quad. Plair will also appear in a recurring role in the upcoming Hulu limited series, Immigrant, starring and executive produced by Kumail Nanjiani. Immigrant will also feature Emmy Award nominee Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford (B Positive), Spencer Boldman (Lab Rats), Robin De Jesús (The Boys in the Band), Academy Award nominee Juliette Lewis (Yellowjackets), Critics Choice Award nominee Andrew Rannells (Girls5eva), and SAG Award winner Dan Stevens (Gaslit), per Deadline.
Hulu has yet to set a release date for Tiny Beautiful Things.
