According to Variety, Fox’s beloved drama series ,Prison Break, will be getting a new series developed by Hulu. Mayans M.C. co-creator and showrunner Elgin James (The Outlaws) will write the new series. The new series is currently in the early stages of development. It will also not be expected to feature characters from the original series. James will be executive producing alongside Dawn Olmstead (Weird U), Prison Break creator Paul T. Scheuring (A Man Apart), Marty Adelstein (Made of Honor), and Neal Moritz (The Fast and the Furious)
According to Variety, Prison Break was a crime drama airing on Fox from 2005-2017. The series comprised five seasons and a television film titled The Final Break. The series also had a low-budget spinoff series Prison Break: Proof of Innocence which was only available on mobile phones as well as a video game, online webisodes, a magazine, and a novel inspired by the series.
The series followed Micheal Scofield whose brother Lincoln Burrows was wrongfully convicted of a crime and sentenced to death. Michael holds up a bank to get himself incarcerated alongside his brother. After being incarcerated he then sets in motion a series of elaborate plans to break out with his brother. After escaping the prison their perils are from being over.
The series cast included Dominic Purcell (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) as Lincoln Burrows, Wentworth Miller (The Flash) as Micheal Scofield, Amaury Nolasco (Max Payne) as Fernando Sucre, Robert Knepper (Hitman) as Theodore Knepper, Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead) as Sara Tancredi, Wade Williams (The Dark Knight Rises) as Brad Bellick, William Fichtner (Black Hawk Down) as Alexander Mahone, Paul Adelstein (Land of the Lost) as Paul Kellerman, Rockmond Dunbar (Sons of Anarchy) as Benjamin Miles Franklin, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe (She’s All That) as Gretchen Morgan, and many others.
