Prime Video’s The Boys has wrapped filming for its fifth and final season. The main antagonist of the series Homelander was brought to life beautifully by Antony Starr (The Boys, G20) however, according to TV Line there was a time where he was originally not interested in the role.

Henry Cavill’s 12 feet tall, built like a 12-foot brick s**t house, and he’s wonderful, handsome and charming I’m not going to get that.”
During the time where The Boys was gathering its cast Starr was busy actor and had started his career with small parts in Xena: Warrior Princess and would eventually land major roles in a variety of Australian television shows such as Mercy Peak, Outrageous Fortune, and Tricky Business. TV Line mentioned that after his time on Cinemax crime drama Banshee, Starr would eventually audition for The Boys tv series. Starr took some time to read the script and realized that this was not another straightforward take on superheroes and decided to take it upon himself to putting some time and energy into trying to get the role of Homelander.
After nailing the audition Starr was cast as Homelander along with actors Karl Urban (The Boys, The Sea Beast) who plays Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid (My Adventures With Superman, Novocaine) who plays Hughie Campbell, Erin Moriarty (Gen V, The Studio) who plays Starlight, Jessie T.
