Just before its third season premiere, the Showtime House of Lies cast is showing off their improv comedic skills.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the House of Lies Live special was taped at the Upright Citizens Brigade in front of a live audience. The special will feature improv veterans Ben Schwartz and Josh Lawson. Golden Globe winner Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell will join them. Both Cheadle and Bell are trying the unscripted longform format for the first time. Also involved are the House of Lies season three guest stars/comedians Lauren Lapkus, Ryan Gaul and Eugene Cordero.
The improv special is the first time Showtime has premiered an original production online. The special will premiere online at Show.com, the network’s YouTube channel and the House of Lies Facebook on December 30. It will then premiere on TV on December 31 at 10 PM. Other ways to get the show include Showtime’s preview applications for iPhone, iPod Touch, and Android smartphones, as well as the Nook and Kindle Fire. A free video podcast will be available on iTunes to download.
The third season of House of Lies will include guest stars Fred Armisen, Eliza Coupe and more. It premieres on Sunday, January 12 at 10 PM on Showtime.
