‘House of David’ Series adds Alexander Uloom in a Leading Role

According to Deadline, Prime videos new biblical series, House of David, has added Alexander Uloom (Qusa, Al Sater Al Garbi) in a key leading role. The upcoming series follows the story of biblical icon David and his ascension to power as the most powerful and famous of the kings of Israel.

Uloom, an Iraqi-American actor best known for his work in Iraqi television series such as Al Sater Al Garbi currently is set to play an undisclosed but integral leading role in the upcoming biblical drama. Uloom joins a long list of acclaimed actors set to appear in Prime’s newest project including Michael Iskander (Kimberly Akimbo) making his English language debut in the titular role of King David after a long international casting search. As noted by Deadline, a long list of supporting performers have been revealed include Ali Suliman (Arthur the King, The Kingdom), Ayelet Zurer (Man of Steel, Munich), Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe, Avatar), Martyn Ford (Final Score, Kingsman: the Golden Circle), Indy Lewis (Industry, La Fortuna), Yali Topol Margalith (The Tattooist of Auschwitz, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder), Ethan Kai (Killing Eve, Emmerdale Farm), Oded Fehr (The Mummy, The Mummy Returns), Louis Ferreira (Bad Blood, Breaking Bad), Davood Ghadami (Doctor Who, John Carter) and Ashraf Barhom (The Kingdom, Clash of the Titans).

Deadline reports that the biblical drama series marks the Uloom’s English language debut, but this is by no means the beginning of his already illustrious career. Uloom has previously won Best Actor at the Iraqi Awards and is a three time winner of Entertainment Tonight Arabia’s People’s Choice Award. Uloom, a refugee from the First Gulf War, grew up in the United States and now co-owns a company with Iranian American writer, producer, and director Evan Mirzai (Doppelgängers, Diablo Run). Uloom and Mirzai are also currently developing a series, Babylon, Texas, set in America starring Uloom.
