‘Homeland’ Season 5 Now Has a Premiere Date

In early July, Showtime released the first teaser/trailer for the upcoming season of Homeland. But now Showtime has released the premiere date and new poster for season 5. Homeland starts airing October 4, 2015 (via Variety).

Last November we reported that Showtime has renewed Homeland for another season. The renewal came at no surprise because of the show’s continual stable ratings. Season 5 will have the same number of episodes as the previous seasons. Homeland was created by Gideon Raff (Prisoners of War) and developed by Howard Gordon (Tyrant) and Alex Gansa (Entourage). The upcoming season will mark the first American television show to ever be shot entirely in Germany (via Deadline).

Back in July we reported on the first look at season 5. It was first look at the changes in Carrie Mathison and the changes in Homeland. The fifth season will take place 2 and a half years after season four in Berlin, Germany. Creators of Homeland are looking to keep the show evolving and growing past Muslim extremist stories. Deadline described season 5 as Carrie Mathison “struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the ‘war on terror’… Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working for a private security firm”.

While Showtime has already released the first teaser/trailer, they have just now released the poster for season 5 and the premiere date. Homeland season 5 premieres October 4 on Showtime. In case you missed it, heres the first look into Homeland‘s return:
