According to Deadline, Hillary Duff posted a tribute to the late Stan Rogow, a producer on Lizzy Mcguire, who passed earlier this week on December 7th. Rogow was 75. According to Dff, Rogow is the reason she got the role.
Duff said, “Writing this right now is bringing back so many distant memories of what feels like a completely different lifetime…One where I had absolutely no clue where I was heading or how I was getting there, but where I had that eagerness and blind optimism that accompanies youth and your first opportunities to step up,” according to Deadline. She continued, saying, “You heavily cherish the people who first believe and see something in you, and for me, there was a special a very special person who fought for me to land a role that would change the entire course of my life…and I’m so sad to hear of his passing today. Stan—thank you for thinking I had “that special thing.” Thank you for all of the Lizzie adventures. Thank you for helping create a reality I could never have dreamed of. Thinking of your family and your son Jackson at this time.”
Duff made the statement in an Instagram post on Saturday after learning of Rogow’s passing. Rogow was an influencial part o9f the childhood favorite Lizzy McGuire, a show that IMDB says followed “A completely normal 13-year old girl, living a completely normal life. She goes to a completely normal school with her best friends, Miranda Sanchez and David “Gordo” Gordon. They help her in situations where she is stuck and needs help and depends on them. Her home life is completely stereotypical, with a nuclear family that consists of her gnome-loving dad, Sam; level-headed mom, Jo; and bratty younger brother, Matt.”
Rogow was also had credits such as Shannon’s Deal and Woke Up Dead, says Deadline.
