With so many new teasers coming out, fans are looking forward to seeing Arrowverse’s Crisis on Infinite Earth crossover. Last year’s December had Stephen Amell, Oliver Queen in Arrow, give us big news regarding the ambitious adaptation. From what we do know, we’ll see Oliver Queen and all the members of Team Arrow unite with Flash and Supergirl to stop the evil machines of villain Anti-Monitor.
In addition to the rest of the actors this time will be the cast of Legends of Tomorrow, which is expected to be an major player in the story line. Other additions to Arrowverse are Ruby Rose’s Batwoman and the first DC casting of Black Lightning. Tom Welling and Erica Durance from Smallville as Clark Kent and Lois Lane respectively are also confirmed for their roles. We’re getting the other two versions of Superman on screen as well: Earth 38 (Tyler Hoechlin) and Superman Returns (Brandon Routh).
Piecing everything together will be the Arrowverse, and having it all countdown with the early pictures makes it all the more enticing. While fans get the privilege of speculating and creating their own theories, Marvel is tight on making sure nothing gets out. The promos are meant to tease and nothing else, so we’re mostly left in the dark. Still, seeing all the ominous imagery like Superman’s tattered cape hanging on a pole is a sight to behold.
The new first wave of photos is all about the multiverse and inevitable calamity in their shared universes. Right now, it’s setting up George Perez and Marv Wolfman’s 1985 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths, which is basically the same outline for the modern crossover. The Monitor and Harbinger need to recruit the rest of the heroes and take on the evil counterpart, Anti-Monitor, before the rest of the multiverse is wiped out. The show will kick off with Supergirl on Dec. 8th.
