According to Deadline, Tom Pelphrey (Iron Fist, Love & Death) has joined the cast of Brad Ingelsby’s (Mare of Easttown, Run All Night) HBO crime drama series. The working title of the series is Untitled Brad Ingelsby Task Force Project and it stars Mark Ruffalo (All the Light We Cannot See, Now You See Me).
The limited series follows an FBI agent as he leads a Task Force in the suburbs outside Philadelphia. The agent’s goal “is to put an end to a string of drug-house robberies led by an unsuspecting family man,” Deadline reports. It is based on an original idea from Brad Ingelsby.
The series is executive produced by Ingelsby, Ruffalo, Jeremy Yaches (We the Animals, The Last Ice Merchant) for Public Record, David Crockett (The Gilded Age, Gone Baby Gone), Mark Roybal (No Country for Old Men, Those Who Wish Me Dead) for wiip Productions, Paul Lee (The Summer I Turned Pretty, White House Plumbers) also for wiip Productions, Salli Richardson-Whitfield (A Low Down Dirty Shame, Eureka), Nicole Jordan-Webber (A Star is Born, Under the Lights), and Jeremiah Zagar (The Fix, 7 Deadly Sins). Richardson-Whitfield and Zagar both direct episodes of the series.
Pelphrey will play Robbie, a sanitation worker who has struggled in life but always gets back on his feet. The actor is in production on the second season of Outer Range on Prime Video, which stars Imogen Poots (Need for Speed, 28 Weeks Later), Lewis Pullman (Press Play, Lessons in Chemistry), Lili Taylor (The Conjuring, Mystic Pizza), and Josh Brolin (Sicario, Men in Black 3).
Pelphrey recently starred in the limited series Love & Death on Max with Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision, Wind River), Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights), Lily Rabe (American Horror Story, Shrinking), and Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones, Don’t Trust the B**** in Apartment 23).
