HBO Releases ‘Mrs. Fletcher’ Trailer: Kathryn Hahn Leads New Comedy Series

HBO just released the trailer for its new comedy series Mrs. Fletcher, which follows the sexual re-awakening of divorcée Eve after her son Brendan leaves for college. Kathryn Hahn will play the titular character, a mother who attempts to live an edgier life and embrace what terrifies her most.

The 55 second trailer reveals that the series will follow Eve and her son Brendan, who are both adjusting to their new lives and embracing their newfound freedom. A divorcée with an empty nest, Eve finds herself yearning to spice up her life. She fantasizes about men and women, even going as far to attend a support group that helps her deal with her newfound erotic longings. After the trailer shows a montage of bedroom theatrics, Eve is shown eyeing her son’s classmate and the voiceover states that “I don’t want to be a good girl anymore.”

Kathryn Hahn has established herself as a brilliant actress in both film and television. Hahn had supporting roles in Adam McKay films Anchorman and Step Brothers. She voiced Doctor Octopus in Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse, a film that boasts an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. On television, Hahn had prominent roles in Amazon’s Transparent, Amazon’s I Love Dick, and Showtime’s Happyish. She also played Lily Lebowski in NBC’s Crossing Jordan. For her role in Transparent, Hahn was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Perrotta wrote the pilot episode, which was directed by Nicole Holofcener, who co-produces the series. Holofcener was a student mentored by Martin Scorsee at Columbia University. She wrote the screenplay for 2018 biographical drama Can You Ever Forgive Me?, which was nominated for an Oscar. Mrs. Fletcher will feature supporting performances from Jen Richards (Tales of the City), Casey Wilson (Always Be My Maybe), Owen Teague (Bloodline), and Domenick Lombardozzi (The Wire).

Cameron Boyce (Descendants) and Jasmine Cephas Jones (Hamilton) both have recurring roles in Mrs. Fletcher.

Mrs. Fletcher will debut on HBO later this year.
