HBO Releases Episode Titles, Descriptions for ‘Westworld’ Season 2 Ahead of Premiere

Fans of Westworld are eagerly awaiting the impending arrival of season 2, which premieres in just little over a week. In the meantime, HBO has released the episode titles and brief descriptions for the first five chapters of Westworld’s sophomore season.

Westworld follows the story of android “hosts” finding their own consciousness in the middle of “Westworld”, a western-styled theme park that allows wealthy guests to act out their wildest fantasies with the hosts. The acclaimed western/sci-fi is created, produced, and written by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.

Season 2’s first five episodes and their descriptions, which appear to be written from the hosts’ point of view, are as follows:

Episode 1 is titled “Journey into Night”. The puppet show is over, and we are coming for you and the rest of your kind. Welcome back to Westworld. (The episode is written by Lisa Joy and Roberto Patino and directed by Richard J. Lewis.)

Episode 2 is titled “Reunion”. Why don’t we start at the beginning? (The episode is written by Carly Wray and Jonathan Nolan and directed by Vincenzo Natali. This may be a flashback episode.)

Episode 3 is titled “Virtù e Fortuna”. There is beauty in who we are. Shouldn’t we, too, try to survive? (The episode is written by Roberto Patino and Ron Fitzgerald and directed by Richard J. Lewis.)

Episode 4 is titled “The Riddle of the Sphinx”. Is this now? If you’re looking forward, you’re looking in the wrong direction. (The episode is written by Gina Atwater and Jonathan Noland and directed by Lisa Joy. Again, this could possibly be an episode with flashbacks.)

Episode 5 is titled “Akane No Mai”, and the description is in Japanese: ショーグン・ワールドへようこそ. This translates to “Welcome to Shogun World”. (The episode is written by Dan Dietz and directed by Craig Zobel.)

All of these episodes seem like they’ll have their fair share of twists and turns – and that’s only the first half of the season.

Westworld season 2 premieres on April 22nd at 9pm EST on HBO.
