HBO Max has made a post on Instagram announcing that season three of The Pitt has begun production. The post showed employee name badges with familiar character faces and names of the series.
For those who don’t know, The Pitt is a series that tells a story about the daily lives of healthcare professionals in a Pittsburgh hospital as they juggle personal crises, workplace politics, and the emotional toll of treating critically ill patients, revealing the resilience in their noble calling. The series is set for a release window in 2027. However, one of the actors will not be returning for the season. Supriya Ganesh (Grown-ish, Billions) who plays Dr. Samira Mohan announced her departure at the end of season two.
According to an interview on Entertainment Weekly, this is what Ganesh said regarding her departure from the show: “That was something that was just always spoken about when we were filming, just that there’s characters that are gonna come and go. Noah would joke around and laugh and go like, ‘Who am I gonna get rid of this season?’ as a joke, so it just was very much something that was just part of how they structured the show.”
The cast consists of Noah Wyle (The Simpsons, Leverage: Redemption), Patrick Ball (ReEntry, Law & Order), Katherine LaNasa (Daredevil: Born Again, Truth Be Told), Fiona Dourif (Situations, Psychonaut), Taylor Dearden (The Hive: A Thriller, Power of Women), Isa Briones (Goosebumps, Star Trek: Picard), Gerran Howell (Out There, Ludwig), Shabana Azeez (River, Tales from Outer Suburbia), Amielynn Abellera (Familia, Bosch: Legacy), Brandon Mendez Homer (Souvenir Drunk, The Good Fight), Sepideh Moafi (Scavengers Reign, I’ll Be Right There), and Ayesha Harris (Grey’s Anatomy, Code 3).
With production underway, it is only a matter of time until we get an official trailer for the third season. In the meantime, you can watch the previous two seasons on HBO Max in order to get caught up for the main event.
