HBO Max Releases Trailer for Animated Series ‘Summer Camp Island’

The upcoming animated series Summer Camp Island has released its first look trailer at its second season. Joining HBO Max, the show is a part of the second wave of original content being released mid-June on the new streaming platform. Created by Julia Pott (Adventure Time), the show is based on her short film under the same name which received critical acclaim at various film festivals such as the Tribeca Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and SXSW. Currently, the animated comedy series has run for one season consisting of forty episodes of eleven minutes each and debuted back in 2018 on Cartoon Network. Yet, the second season of the series will be released on HBO Max on Thursday, June 18.

Summer Camp Island centers on two characters, an elephant named Oscar and Hedgehog, and each episode follows them on their new adventures during their stay at the titular Summer Camp Island. Oscar is currently voiced by Asher Bishop (The Angry Birds Movie 2) while Hedgehog is voiced by Oona Laurence (Big Time Adolescence). Additional voice cast includes the likes of Charlyne Yi (House, Knocked Up), Nikki Castillo (Scorpion), Ramone Hamilton (The Grinch), and Pott herself. The series is also executive produced by Pott, Jennifer Pelphrey (Regular Show, Steven Universe), Tramm Wigzell (Ben 10), Brian A. Miller (CatDog, Dexter’s Laboratory), and Rob Sorcher (Adventure Time) while also maintaining production from Cartoon Network Studios.

Set to debut on the new Warner Media streaming service HBO Max, Summer Camp Island’s second season has yet to announce the episode count and guest voice actors as well. The show’s first season is available in its entirety on HBO Max prior to the second season release on June 18. HBO Max is currently being offered at $14.99 per month with access to the likes of originals such as Love Life, the vault of HBO content such as Game of Thrones, and Warner Media-owned series such as The Big Bang Theory and Friends.
