HBO Max Announces Susan Sarandon, Busy Philipps, and More Guest Stars for ‘Search Party’ Season 4

The upcoming fourth season of HBO Max’s Search Party has released information concerning new guest stars for the season’s cast. The impending season will include the likes of Susan Sarandon (Bull Durham, Thelma & Louise), Busy Philipps (Freaks and Geeks, Cougar Town), Griffin Dunne (After Hours, This Is Us), Ann Dowd (Hereditary, The Leftovers, The Handmaid’s Tale), Lillias White (Hercules, The Get Down), and author R.L. Stine (Goosebumps) in guest role capacities, according to Deadline

Search Party debuted on TBS in 2016 and hailed from the creative minds of Charles Rogers (Fort Tilden, Wet Hot American Summer), Sarah-Violet Bliss (Fort Tilden, Mozart in the Jungle), and Michael Showalter (The State, The Big Sick). The series was moved from TBS to the newly launched HBO Max streaming platform for its third season in the summer of 2020 and will remain for the upcoming fourth season that has been ordered. The comedy series incorporates thriller elements as it follows a group of friends living in New York City after embarking on a mission to locate one of the friend’s college peers who has gone missing. 

The series cast includes the likes of Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development, Drunk History), John Early (Fort Tilden, 30 Rock), Meredith Hagner (As the World Turns), John Reynolds (Stranger Things) in main roles with recurring roles featuring Ron Livingston (Band of Brothers, Office Space), Louie Anderson (Baskets), Jeffrey Self (Hot in Cleveland, 30 Rock), and Christine Taylor (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) making appearances for the comedy program. 

Currently, Sarandon is set to join the series as Cole Escola’s (Difficult People) character Chip’s refined aunt named Lylah while Philipps will appear as an ex-teen star Donna DiMarco. The remaining new guest stars will see Dunne as Richard Wreck, a CEO of a pastry corporation, Dowd as a townie in Paula Jo, White as a talk-show host, and Stine will appear in a quick cameo role for the fourth season. 

There is currently no expected premiere date for the upcoming fourth season.
