Despite initially being set as a weekly episodic series on the new streaming platform, the new comedy anthology series Love Life will now be releasing the show in its entirety over the course of the next three weeks, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The streaming platform HBO Max initially launched this week on May 27 with this comedy series as one of its first original programs available to its subscribers. As a part of the platform’s release, HBO Max granted subscribers access to the first three episodes instead of its original plan to release an episode each week. Currently, the streamer will release the second set of episodes on June 4 with its fourth, fifth, and sixth episodes and the remaining four to be released on June 11.
Love Life is an anthology series with this first season in New York City as viewers follow the main character Darby reignite her troublesome past with love interests. Darby is portrayed by actress Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect, Up in the Air) with the additional cast including the likes of Peter Vack (Mozart in the Jungle) as Jim, Sasha Compère (Miracle Workers) as Mallory, Scoot McNairy (True Detective, Argo) as Bradley, Zoë Chao (Living with Yourself) as Sara, and actress Lesley Manville. Due to its status as an anthology series, the first season will solely follow Darby’s story while future seasons’ cast and premises are still unknown.
Love Life was a part of the first phase of original content for the streaming newcomer. With this change, the series will conclude its first season run on the week before June 18 where HBO Max will begin its second phase of originals’ releases. Currently, HBO Max is available for $14.99 (USD) per month and the platform will include the likes of original programs from J.J. Abrams production company Bad Robot, Kaley Cuoco’s The Flight Attendant, and many more in addition to library of HBO content and Warner Media projects such as the successful sitcoms The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon.
