HBO Drops ‘Big Little Lies’ Teaser

HBO has revealed the first trailer for its upcoming limited series Big Little Lies.

Deadline reports that the series, based on Liane Moriarty’s best-selling novel, is scheduled to premiere its seven-episode run sometime in 2017. The limited series has David E. Kelley (Goliath, The PracticeAlly McBeal) on board as showrunner, with Dallas Buyer’s Club‘s Jean-Marc Vallée set to direct.

Big Little Lies follows three women, all mothers in varying situations who have children at the same school. The women start to grow close with one another as their complex and troubled personal lives begin to overlap. The limited series boasts a stellar cast that includes Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley as the three central women. Laura Dern, Adam Scott, Zoë Kravitz, Alexander Skarsgård, and James Tupper also star.

Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman are both clearly fans of Moriarty’s work. Both actors serve as executive producers on the limited series, and they have also recently optioned another of the Australian author’s novels called Truly Madly Guilty. Big Little Lies also marks the second collaboration between Witherspoon, Dern, and Vallée, all having worked together previously on Wild.

Big Little Lies is executive produced by Kelley, Vallée, Witherspoon, Kidman, Bruna Papandrea, Per Saari, and Nathan Ross.
